30 Years of PLB

This year marks 30 years of PLB, celebrated with a special event in February. To continue the milestone, we’ve launched our ‘30 Things for 30’ initiative—delivering 30 social value acts throughout the year. Follow this page for regular updates on our progress.

PLB marked its 30th anniversary on February 12th, with a celebratory event at Gravity Max, bringing colleagues together to recognise a major milestone in the company’s journey.

The occasion was a reflection of three decades in business, an achievement built on the hard work, commitment, and teamwork of people across the organisation, both past and present. It provided an opportunity to pause and acknowledge how far the company has come, while also celebrating the individuals who have contributed along the way.

The event itself was full of energy, with a mix of activities and informal conversations creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. It served as a reminder that while PLB is proud of the projects it delivers, its true strength lies in its people.

Marking 30 years in this way captured not only the spirit of the business today, but also set the tone for the future, as PLB continues to grow and build on its strong foundations.

As part of our “30 for 30” campaign this year, members of the PLB team spent half a day volunteering at South Liverpool Foodbank’s warehouse in Huntscross.

Together, we helped pack, sort, and label donations ready for distribution across the local community.

South Liverpool Foodbank provides emergency food and practical support to people during some of the hardest moments in their lives. They also work with partners and local communities to help people access the right support long before a food bank is needed.

Seeing the operation first-hand was a reminder of how much work happens behind the scenes to support local people with dignity, care, and compassion.

This forms part of our “30 for 30” campaign, marking PLB’s 30th year in business through 30 acts of support, volunteering, and community contribution across the region.

As a business rooted in Liverpool, we believe social value should be demonstrated through action. Supporting organisations like South Liverpool Foodbank is one small way we can give something back to the communities we work in every day.

Huge thank you to the team at South Liverpool Foodbank for welcoming us, and well done to our colleagues who represented PLB!

A fantastic team effort supporting an organisation making a real difference across our city.

Creating lasting social value is about listening to what communities need and delivering something that will make a difference long after the work is complete.

As part of our ‘30 for 30’ initiative, we are delighted to show the completed transformation of the outdoor space at Transforming Choice, creating a welcoming, accessible environment for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The project included:

  • A new perimeter fence to create privacy for residents.
  • A compact, low-maintenance seating area with decorative stone.
  • Bespoke raised planters to bring colour and structure to the space.
  • More than £500 worth of plants, creating a vibrant garden that will continue to flourish for years to come.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of our trusted supply chain partners.

A HUGE thank you to Sovini Trade Supplies and Beers Timber & Building Supplies Ltd for their generous donations of materials, and to Amnis, whose kind donation helped us fill the garden with over £500 worth of plants, bringing the space to life.

Together, your support enabled us to complete the transformation in time for the latest Graduation Day, creating an outdoor space that residents, visitors and future cohorts can enjoy for years to come.

Projects like this demonstrate the power of collaboration. When businesses come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful spaces that improve wellbeing, encourage connection and leave a lasting legacy within our communities.

A fantastic team effort by everyone involved.
